One of the best views of the legendary Skyline of Frankfurt you’ll have from the „Skydeck“ on the 7th level of Zeilgalerie. From the roof of the shopping centre, all the skyscrapers that gave the city its second name „Mainhattan“ for a reason, make the perfect photo opportunity and especially at sunset you’ll meet a bunch of photographers with tripods and big lenses up there. And the best part: the access is free!
Café Karin is a real institution for breakfast and cakes just in the center of Frankfurt’s old town. Famous for the best scrambled eggs, a yummy Bircher Müsli and home made ice tea you can have breakfast all day. The cozy seating area is a real melting pot of generations and this way Café Karin stands out not only for the excellent menu but mostly for its guests.
Of course, the current Checkpoint Charlie somehow is Disneyland. You might not be aware of this but the historical Checkpoint Charlie, which served as a border crossing between the American and the Russian sector of the once-divided Berlin, actually stood a few feet further than its present location. Nevertheless, a photo with the men dressed as military staff is – at least- for the first visit to Berlin a clear must! And just because you are already there and a little education in history hasn’t hurt anybody yet, pay the neighboring Checkpoint Charlie Museum a visit!

Leaving the MEININGER Hotel Berlin Prenzlauer Berg to the left and head down the road that seems to lead nowhere and you will reach the Winsviertel that has yet remained somewhat untouched by tourists and this is why we highly recommend it. Here SOEUR is hiding – and it’s a real gem. The vintage store is a great find for fans of eccentric pieces. Even designer fashion is sold here for reasonably prices. Take your time and discover clothes that you won’t find in any other vintage store in Berlin.
Muse might be the perfect lunch spot in Berlin. The restaurant offers delicious sandwiches, homemade soups and other yummy dishes on weekdays. It is nearly completely farm-to-table as most of the ingredients come from local organic farmers around Berlin.

For a true burger fan Austria might be a tricky place, but lighten up if you’re in Salzburg. Two outlets of Burgermeister serve you burgers with tasty bread buns and organic meat in 13 different styles starting from 4,50€. Good news for vegetarians and vegans: there are special burgers with tofu or feta cheese on the menu.
This place used to be the city’s movie theatre, until it was transformed in a colourful bar and theatre in 2001. Since then it’s been a place where locals just like tourists like to meet for a coffee in the afternoon or a beer at night.
